Keyword bank

Last updated: September 11, 2026

A keyword bank is a list of names and terms the speech recognition would otherwise get wrong: speaker names, your company and product names, acronyms, financial terms. Videosync feeds the list to both automatic transcripts and real-time subtitles.

Banks are account-wide. You create one once, mark it as the account default, and every event on the account uses it. You can still add a few event-specific keywords on top, or pick a different bank for a single event.

Where to find it

The Keyword bank section is in Event Admin under EditSubtitles and transcripts. The same section also appears under LiveReal-time subtitles. It is the same data in both places, so edit it wherever you happen to be.

Creating a bank

  1. Click Manage keyword banks.
  2. Give the bank a name and add keywords, one per line.
  3. Click Add default keywords to add your account name and the current event’s speaker names, if they are not on the list already.
  4. Tick Set as the account default bank so every event uses it without any extra setup.
  5. Click Create.

The bank shows up in the list with a green Default badge. Select any bank in the list to edit, delete, or make it the default. A bank can hold up to 1000 keywords.

What to add

Keywords help the AI hear names it would otherwise mishear. They do not translate anything.

Add proper nouns, one per line: speaker names, company names, product names, tickers and acronyms. Put a speaker’s first name and surname on separate lines. A full name on one line is only recognised when both words are said together.

EBITDA|ee-bit-dah

Do not add ordinary words such as CEO, strategy or revenue. The AI already knows them, and extra entries can make recognition worse.

The pipe (|) is rarely needed. It adds a “sounds like” spelling for a word the AI keeps mishearing, as in EBITDA|ee-bit-dah. Never use it for a translation. CEO|toimitusjohtaja breaks recognition instead of helping it.

Using a bank in an event

The Keyword bank dropdown defaults to the account default bank. Pick a bank by name to pin it for this event, for example a separate bank for a subsidiary’s events.

Type anything specific to this event, such as a guest speaker or a product being launched, into Event extra keywords. They are combined with the bank when the event is transcribed or subtitled, and they stay with this event only.

Changes on this page are part of the event, so click Save in the top bar.

💡

For real-time subtitles, also click Save Language Settings after saving the event. That pushes the keywords to the live subtitle service. The text under the section tells you whether the live service already has the current keywords.

Existing real-time subtitle glossaries

If you used the real-time subtitle glossary before keyword banks existed, the Real-time subtitles page shows a notice listing the glossary entries that are not yet in a bank. Click Create default keyword bank from these entries to move them over, or Merge into keyword bank if you already have a bank.
